"Hip-Hop and Heels" founder "Brandee Evans". Nothing is more sexier than a female representing her independence and confidence in heels.

Brandee Evans is a professional dancer + choreographer, originally from Memphis, Tennessee.A former National Champion dancer for the University of Memphis, Evans went on to dance three seasons for the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies team. She continued with the franchise as Assistant Dance Coordinator for their 2008-2009 season, as well as directing the team’s “Grannies & Grandpas” dance troupe, comprised of dancers aged 50 years and older.

Highly-decorated, Evans choreographed and coached the 2013& 2014 USA Collegiate Championship title-winning team at Northern Arizona University, and the 2012 World Champion Golden Hawks team of Japan. Evans has accepted “Most Innovative Choreography” awards in both the U.S. and Japan.

Evans has appeared as a professional dancer on tour and on television for superstar recording artists including Katy Perry, Pitbull, Ledisi, P. Diddy, Usher, Kelly Rowland, Mary J. Blige, LL Cool J, Alicia Keys, Snoop Dogg, Keri Hilson, and Jamie Foxx. She has appeared in promo campaigns for projects including the Miami HEAT, Disney’s Camp Rock 2, Bob Harper Fitness, TARGET, Vitamin Water, Skinny Cow Ice Cream, and Adidas.

Brandee recently choreographed Pitbull feat Kesha’s “Timber” video, Justice Crew’s Que Sera American video, Ledisi’s “I Blame You,” and assisted Laurieann Gibson with Just Ivy feat DJ Khaled’s “Light Me Up” music video.

In 2010, Evans created a series of dance classes for women focusing on improving confidence, building strength, finding “sexy,” and having fun. She coined the sessions “Hip Hop in Heels™,” and encouraged dancers of all experience and ability to take the class in a fierce pair of pumps. Her “Hip Hop in Heels™” classes grew quickly in popularity, and she has gone on to teach sessions in Los Angeles, Memphis, Georgia, Vegas, Japan, and the UK. She also started “Hip Hop in Heels” at USA (The United Spirit Association) college/pro dance camp summer 2013.

Evans has been the recipient of numerous awards for her work in dance and choreography, including:

  • The [first-ever] Monsters of Hip Hop Lifetime Scholarship

  • Monsters of Hip Hop Scholarship recipient (Atlanta – February 2007)

  • Monsters of Hip Hop MILLENNIUM DANCE COMPLEX Scholarship (New Jersey – November 2006)

  • University of Memphis – Varsity Dance Team Scholarship (1998-2001)

Evans taught high school English in Memphis for six years where she served as Department Chair. She continues to teach English in Japan, and tutors part-time at a private academy in California. She enjoys spending time with her family, working out, and working with computers. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
