ATLA Choreographer: Michael SIlas

Twenty-five-year-old Michael was born in Germany and grew up in a military home. The family moved to Houston, Texas when he was nine-years-old. Michael was a scholar at the Houston Metropolitan Dance Center. He also attended several schools including Alvin Ailey, Broadway Dance Center, Millennium Dance Complex and the Debbie Reynolds Dance Academy. His years of studying made him a professional in jazz, ballet, salsa, hip-hop and modern dance. He has performed with big artists such as Kelly Rowland, Hillary Duff and Cristina Aguilera to name a few. In his blood runs a mixture of different ethnic backgrounds. He is Black, Latin and German. Michael is also involved with different advocacy programs and charities. He teaches and hosts dance mentoring programs and LGBT organization assemblies. He also spends time with handicapped Americans and underprivileged minority communities. Michael sees himself as a raw, beautiful and passionate performer in love with the art of dancing. His motto is this: “Life is my canvas, the beat is my soul, crank it up and watch me roll."
